Repeal of HealthCare Reform

HealthCare ReformWith the full implementation of HealthCare Reform or Obama Care becoming a greater reality each day, Likely voters still favor repeal.  Even the A.M.A. is holding a vote to consider withdrawing it’s support for the Health Care Reform Law according to http://americasmedicalsociety.com/ .  This is in direct contrast to an article written on 7/22/09 which affirms it’s support for Health Care Reform. Another article posted 6/20/2011 states AMA Loses 12,000 members.

According to Rasmussen Reports, 53% of likely voters favor repeal while 42% are against it.  Some interesting numbers backup this lack of support for Obama Care. Read the rest of this entry »

New Server, Website & Instant Quoting

We would like to thank all of the wonderful people who let us know about our website having some issues on Monday and Tuesday.  We have transitioned to a new server that is better equipped to handle the increased traffic and features we are implementing.

As with most moves, we had a couple of issues and our site was down for several hours.  We have successfully transitioned over to the new server and you should not have any other issues.

Health Care Reform Update & the Courts

HealthCare ReformOn March 3, U.S. District Court Judge Roger Vinson ruled that implementation of the health reform law could continue, but that the federal government had only a week to file an appeal to his ruling that the law was unconstitutional. In his ruling, Vinson repeated what he has said previously — that “the citizens of this country have an interest in having this case resolved as soon as practically possible.” The Justice Department filed its appeal on March 8.

The administration has said it will press on with implementation, but two states — Florida and Alaska — halted plans to do so. Last week, the Florida Senate, on the second day of its legislative session, voted 29-10 in favor of a state constitutional amendment to ban implementation of the individual coverage requirement. Comparative Effectiveness Research – Health Care Refrom

Health Insurance by AnthemAnthem has released news about the comparative effectiveness research and plan fees in the Health Care Reform Bill.

 

The health care reform law requires plan sponsors and issuers to pay fees that will partially support the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. Virginia Rules Health Care Mandate Unconstitutional

HealthCare RulingUS District Judge Henry Hudson struck down the “individual mandate” requiring most Americans to purchase health insurance by 2014.  This ruling marks the first time any federal judge has stricken any part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

In his ruling, U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson wrote that he is severing the portion of the law on the individual mandate, known as Section 1501, while not granting an injunction against the entire law. He acknowledged that the decision will have to go higher than his jurisdiction.

“The outcome of this case has significant public policy implications. And the final work will undoubtedly reside with a higher court.” Read the rest of this entry »
