Comparative Effectiveness Research – Health Care Refrom

Health Insurance by AnthemAnthem has released news about the comparative effectiveness research and plan fees in the Health Care Reform Bill.

The health care reform law requires plan sponsors and issuers to pay fees that will partially support the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. The fees will be required for plan/policy years ending after September 30, 2012, and before October 1, 2019 (starting November 1, 2011 and later).

The institute’s findings will be used to inform health care providers and consumers – not to determine practice guidelines, coverage recommendations, payment or policy recommendations
