HealthCare Reform Employee Notice Due
Healthcare Reform is fast approaching with many new rules, regulations, penalties and deadlines. The first major deadline is notifying each employee about the company’s current offerings and how they can obtain coverage through the exchange.
This notice is required to be delivered to each employee by October 1st, 2013 and to all new hires within 14 days of their start date. This is a requirement of all employers down to 1 employee. Healthcare Reform (HCR) does allow for some exceptions on business size but it will not apply to most businesses.
The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued guidance on wording of the notices. Two notices have been released by the DOL. Employers who offer health insurance to some or all employees can be found here. Employers who do not offer health insurance can be found here. For more information and guidance, vist the DOL website on healthreform.

As we move forward into HCR, it will be increasingly important to have a trusted advisor. I recommend finding a knowledgeable and qualified agent you trust and closing your ears to much of the media spin. I welcome the opportunity to be that advisor. Whether you choose me or another broker I believe it’s important to lean on this advisor for your questions and information. You should also check with your lawyer and CPA to help protect your company and comply with the numerous new regulations.
TASK Insurance is putting the final touches on our website to help assist those searching for coverage through the exchange or independent of the exchange. If you are searching for a place to refer employees, friends or family, TASK Insurance will provide excellent service and advice. Depending on your company size, we may be able to setup a specific landing page specific to your employees and company.
If you have any questions about this required notice or any aspect of HCR, please feel free to contact us or we can setup an appointment to discuss in person.
